This iPhone cover for my friend Karolina is only the second project I made at someone’s request. The first one was this wedding couple. It is always a challenge to meet the other person’s expectations so to make the cover interesting I decided to use a solid shell stitch, which I have never used before, but which I thought looked really pretty. It turned out that combined with a rich blue color of the yarn it gives a really nice, vivid effect.

The cover is made with ca. 25 g of Järbo Mio Extrafine merino wool, color 30213 and a 2 mm needle. It fits an iPhone 6 or 6s as well as Samsung Galaxy S4.

For the solid shell stitch the basis of the work has to be a multiple of 6 ch and so I made 54.

To make the basis of the cover with 54 stitches:

Chain 25 and turn with 1
R1: Sc 2 in the first ch, sc 23 in the following 23 ch and again sc 2 in the last ch. Instead of turning the work continue round the work and sc 2 more in the same (last) ch, then sc 23 in the other side of the following 23 ch and finish with 2 st in the first ch (54).

From here you begin rounds of solid shell stitch:

R2: Ch 1, sc in the first st. *Skip 2 st, work 5 dc in the next st, skip 2 st, sc in the next st*. Repeat *-* until 2 st remain. Skip 2 st, join with a sl st in the first st of the round.
R3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 2 dc in the same (first) st. *Skip 2 st, sc in the next st, skip 2 st, 5 dc in the next st*. Repeat *-* working 2 dc in the same st you started the round with. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3.

Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you get desired length – I made 28 rounds.

I finished the work with a round of sl st in each st, cut the yarn and weave it in.

Enjoy!

Zrób 25 ł i odwróć pracę 1 ł.
R1: Zrób 2 o w pierwszym ł, 23 o w kolejnych 23 ł i znowu 2 o w ostatnim ł. Zamiast odwrócenia pracy kontynuuj rundę poprzez 2 o w tym samym (ostatnim) ł, 23 o z drugiej strony kolejnych 23 ł i znowu 2 o w pierwszym ł (54).

Od tego momentu zaczynasz rundy muszli:

R2: Zrób 1 ł, 1 o w pierwszym ł. *Pomiń 2 o, zrób 5 s w kolejnym o, pomiń 2 o, 1 o w kolejnym o*. Powtarzaj *-* aż zostaną tylko 2 o. Pomiń 2 o i połącz os z pierwszym o rundy.

Powtarzaj rundę 2 i 3 do uzyskania odpowiedniej długości – ja zrobiłam 28 rund.

Zakończ pracę rundą os w każdym o, odetnij wełnę i wszyj końcówkę.

Miłej zabawy!
